In honor of the 19th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s death on September 13th 1996, artists submitted original work of the late rapper. To honor his legacy, the family picked 20 pieces and shared them as a gallery on his Twitter and Instagram accounts. From abstract paintings to digital renditions of his legendary image.
Nicki Minaj was immortalized as a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Las Vegas.
Tupac, Biggie and Snoop have also been made into wax figures by Madame Tussaud.
The Broadway musical, starring Saul Williams and directed by Kenny Leon, is inspired by Tupac’s lyrics but isn’t biographical of the late rapper. Instead, it’s set in a Midwestern industrial city during present day and tells the story of two childhood friends who struggle to reconcile the challenges and realities of their daily lives with their hopes, dreams, and ambitions.
Scheduled to open at the Palace Theater on June 19th.
